I have been involved in fitness and sports since I took my first steps and as a
personal trainer I have the opportunity to share my love for fitness. I try
to help my clients find what works best for their body, personality and goals.
In addition, I feel it is important to keep the workouts interesting and dynamic
so my clients are always challenged. As an athletic trainer, I have had extensive
experience rehabilitating injured athletes and training them to peak performance. As a member of the 2009 US Women's Street Hockey, I also served as the head Strength and Conditioning Coach. I have worked with expectant mothers and new mothers to help them reach optimum health. My most successful clients have made a commitment to reach their goals and have recognized
the importance of personal training in their plan.

As a certified personal trainer, I feel that it is very important for
me to practice what I preach. There was a point in my life where I was extremely overweight,
and had very low self-confidence because of my being overweight. At one point in time, I decided to
make a change in my overall quality of life, a change that was for the better, and still is for the better.
I lost over 60 pounds of body fat, and became a very lean 200 pounds. I have been adding muscle to my frame
ever since, and couldn’t be happier.
With over 8 years of experience as a Certified Personal Trainer, I have worked with many clients who have
lost weight ranging from 5 pounds to 105 pounds. Equally important are those clients who have not only lost weight, but have lost a significant percentage of body fat and converted their tissue composition to mostly lean muscle! I have enjoyed the challenge of helping clients to boost their self-confidence and overall qualities of life. I have also had the opportunity to work with many seniors. It is very rewarding to make someone
feel like a kid again, to show them that they can do much more than they thought they could being 65+ years of age.
Trainers should be very versatile and be able to work with many different populations. I feel that my experience has allowed me to help all types of persons meet their unique goals.

As a Naval Veteran I have over two years experience as a physical readiness instructor. An avid weight lifter and fitness enthusiast, I have enjoyed working as a certified personal trainer for over 7 years. I like to use a unique combination of interval and strength training to increase cardiovascular endurance, improve stamina, and optimize each training session. My passion is motivating people to achieve their fitness goals. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with my clients as much as utilizing my skills toward my own training and nutritional goals.
Melissa is a native of New Orleans who relocated to Baltimore in September 2005. After completing coursework at the Blue Cliff School of Therapeutic Massage, Melissa worked briefly at the first Day Spa in New Orleans. Melissa’s desire to work in a setting where she could perform therapeutic massage led her to a local chiropractor and to becoming involved in the prestigous Touro Hospital Alternative Therapy Center. While at the ATC, Melissa regularly received referrals from emergency room physicians. She also had the privilege of working with patients admitted to the Hospital’s Chronic Pain Management Center as part of the doctors’ treatment plan to assist in the effort to ease patients away from the over-use of prescription medications and to help alleviate or lessen their chronic pain.
Melissa also had the opportunity to work with the Bailey Institute of New Orleans. The practice primarily worked with athletes, including tri-athletes, competitive bicyclists and marathon runners. Melissa regularly worked with NFL and MBL players as well.
Melissa opened her own practice inside Charm City Fitness in October 2006. Her main focus continues to be working with individuals who strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle. With training in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, neuromuscular therapy (NMT) and Thai massage, Melissa is able to offer specifically tailored sessions according to each person’s individualized needs.
As a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Melissa takes advantage of the many courses offered to allow her to continue to grow as a therapist. Melissa is Nationally Certified and is licensed by the Massage Therapy Advisory Committed and Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
