What is the Boot Camp?

Charm City Fitness' Boot Camp is a great way for people to improve their fitness and overall health outside of the gym. Some physical benefits one might get out of working out in the Boot Camp are

  • Improved flexibility

Charm City Fitness' Boot Camp is an outdoor program that constantly varies in its programming so that it is never boring. Our Boot Camp involves a program of many different combinations of strength training exercises, cardiosvascular conditioning exercises, and stretching exercises. More specifically, our Boot Camp consists of, but is not limited to, core strength training, plyometric and agility drills, calisthenics,sprint drills, an obstacle course, stair exercises, hill exercises, and boxing training.

When is the Boot Camp?

Boot Camp will have sessions both in the mornings and in the evenings. Boot Camp sessions will meet twice per week. Our next round of sessions will begin August 4, 2008. It will be an 8 week program.

  • Monday and Wednesday @6:00pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday @6:30pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday @6:15am
  • Wednesday and Friday @ 6:15am

*It will be an 8 week program. Evening classes may end sooner as daylight permits.

Is There A Waiting List?

Send your name and phone number to info@citysweat.com with "Waiting List" in the subject line and if a spot opens up, Charm City Fitness will contact you. Otherwise, you will be notified for priority enrollment in the second round of Boot Camp.

What is the appropriate age range and athletic ability for the Boot Camp?

Charm City Fitness' Boot Camp is designed for people ranging in age from 10 - 65. The classes are designed so participants can adjust their own intensity levels. Participants should be prepared to do running intervals, sprints, stairs, etc. We have found that anyone willing to work hard can be successful in our Boot Camp.

Charm City Fitness will peform a complimentary fitness assessment should someone wonder what their athletic ability may be, and if they are in the proper shape to participate in the Boot Camp.

Who is teaching the Boot Camp?

Chris Gonzales will be teaching the Boot Camp in 2008 along with Jodi Naasz and Nina Charity. Chris began the Boot Camp in 2007 and established a very loyal following, most of whom will be returning for more action in 2008! Chris was formerly a Sargeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Infantry. He was a physical fitness instructor while in preparation for deployment to Iraq, where he completed an 8 month tour of duty in 2003. He is fully trained in Marine Corps martial arts, close combat, and physical fitness. Chris is a certified aerobics instructor and personal trainer with the International Fitness Association. He is also certified in CPR and First Aid.

Where is the Boot Camp?

Charm City Fitness' Boot Camp is held in Baltimore's Patterson Park. Patterson Park is bordered by Pratt Street and Eastern Avenue to its North and South, and Ellwood Avenue and Patterson Park Avenue to its East and West, respectively.

How much is the Boot Camp?

Sign up for the Boot Camp TODAY to receive the Early Bird Discounts. An 8-week session of Boot Camp is $250, however if you sign up early you can receive up to 20% off.

  • $200 if you sign up before July 12, 2008
  • $225 if you sign up before July 26, 2008
  • $250 if you sign up July 26, 2008 or after

How many people are in a class?

Charm City Fitness has a maximum of 12 people per class so that we can maintain a minimal instructor to participant ratio. We do this so that the participants receive the proper attention that they deserve from the instructor. This allows for a safe, efficient, and more personal envrionment for people to engage in exercise and get to know one another.

What is the inclement weather policy?

Our instructor will notify all participants via telephone or email prior to a class' beginning. If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be made up within a one week grace period concluding the first 8 weeks

Do I need to bring anything with me to Boot Camp?

Participants only need to bring towels and water, and come dressed in appropriate clothing for the weather conditions at the time. All other exercise materials will be provided to you at the Boot Camp.
